RentAAA Global Customer Wallet Policy

Effective date: 01 September 2026

Company: Starr Group Pty Ltd trading as RentAAA

Applies to: Customer Wallets in RentAAA Customer and other approved customer-facing products in supported countries

Contact: [email protected]

This Policy explains the Customer Wallet. A Customer Wallet is a software payment profile and never holds a Customer cash balance. It is not offered in every country, currency or product.

Technology and Merchant responsibility: This Policy governs Customer Wallet-related functions only. Starr Group Pty Ltd and RentAAA provide technology, software and payment-administration support services only. They do not own, supply, rent, lease, manage or control any vehicle, property, equipment, inventory, accommodation, goods or rental service offered by a Merchant, service provider or third party. The relevant Merchant, service provider or third party remains responsible for the underlying rental item, product, service, pricing, availability, condition, safety, fulfilment, cancellation, refund, bond, deposit, damage, insurance, dispute and customer claim obligations, subject to Applicable Law.

For clarity, RentAAA provides software-based payment facilitation and payment-administration tools through approved third-party Payment Providers. RentAAA does not operate as a payment gateway, payment processor, bank, stored-value facility, trust account, deposit account, escrow provider or remittance provider.

2. Nature of the Customer Wallet

2.1

A Customer Wallet may be created when a Customer registers or adds a supported payment method in RentAAA Customer. Its features depend on the Customer’s and Merchant’s countries, currency and Payment Provider.

2.2

The Customer Wallet is a software payment profile. It may allow the Customer to:

  • add, update or remove supported payment methods;
  • establish and view payment mandates or authorities;
  • authorise one-time or recurring payments;
  • view transaction references and status;
  • view refunds, reversals or dishonours; and
  • receive payment-related notices.
2.3

The Customer Wallet:

  • does not hold a customer balance;
  • cannot be loaded with funds;
  • cannot be used to deposit, withdraw, transfer or store money;
  • does not pay interest;
  • is not a bank account, deposit account or stored-value facility; and
  • is separate from the Merchant Wallet.
2.4

An amount displayed in a Customer Wallet is a transaction record or status—not money held for the Customer in the Wallet.

3. Adding payment details

3.1

Supported methods may include cards, bank debit, bank transfer, instant or account-to-account payments and other options presented in the Application. Local payment methods are displayed in the Platform before authorisation. Availability varies by country, currency, Merchant and Payment Provider.

3.2

Payment details may be collected directly by a Payment Provider through an embedded or redirected interface. RentAAA may receive tokens, masked account or card details, mandate information and transaction status needed to operate the Customer Wallet. The Payment Provider may remain the primary holder or processor of payment details, while RentAAA receives only the information reasonably required to operate the Customer Wallet and support payment records.

3.3

RentAAA does not store complete debit or credit card numbers, card verification values or internet-banking credentials. The payment-setup screen and RentAAA Customer Privacy Policy explain the handling of bank-account and other payment information.

3.4

The Customer must be authorised to use every payment method added and must keep the information current.

3.5

If the Customer adds a payment method belonging to another person, the Customer confirms they have authority from the account holder or cardholder to use that method and to provide the related payment details for the disclosed RentAAA and Merchant payment purposes.

4. Payment authorities

4.1

Adding a payment method does not by itself give an unlimited authority. A payment may be processed only under a valid one-time, recurring or method-specific authority.

4.2

By confirming a payment or mandate, the Customer authorises RentAAA and the Payment Provider to act within the disclosed amount, frequency, timing and purpose.

4.3

RentAAA will not charge another linked payment method merely because the preferred method fails unless the Customer has given a valid authority covering the alternative method.

4.4

A valid recurring authority may permit subsequent payments or retries within its terms and applicable payment rules. The Customer will be given any notice required by the authority or law.

4.5

RentAAA may retain electronic acceptance, mandate, transaction and audit records showing who accepted, what was accepted, the version or screen shown, the date and time, device or app information, IP address where available, and the related Merchant, Customer, booking or transaction reference.

5. Bank debit and recurring payment authorities

5.1

A bank debit or recurring payment is governed by the mandate, service agreement and disclosures presented during setup for the relevant country and payment method.

5.2

Where applicable, a one-time setup fee may apply and will be disclosed before setup. Once successfully established, the fee is non-refundable except where Applicable Law requires a refund or setup fails because of an error by RentAAA or the Payment Provider.

5.3

The Customer may cancel an authority through the process stated in the applicable mandate or through available banking channels. Cancellation stops future debits in accordance with Applicable Law and payment rules but does not cancel an amount independently owed to the Merchant.

6. Account-to-account payments, transfers and cards

6.1

An account-to-account or instant-payment agreement may need approval and may be paused, amended or cancelled through the Customer’s banking channel, subject to applicable Local Payment Terms.

6.2

A bank transfer or identifier-based payment must use the destination and reference shown in the Application. An incorrect reference, amount, currency or destination may delay or prevent matching.

6.3

Card payments are processed by a Payment Provider. The Customer must not send complete card details to RentAAA or a Merchant by email or ordinary messaging. RentAAA does not store the complete card number or card verification value.

6.4

The Customer’s financial institution or Payment Provider may apply currency conversion, cross-border or external bank fees. Available currencies and known RentAAA or Payment Provider fees will be disclosed before authorisation where required by Applicable Law.

7. Customer Wallet records and status

7.1

The Customer Wallet may display In Queue, Sent to Bank, In Progress, Waiting Settlement, On Hold, Completed, Dishonoured, Reversed or Refunded.

7.2

A pending status does not mean the payment has completed. A completed payment remains subject to a lawful refund, reversal, dishonour or Chargeback.

7.3

A refund displayed in the Customer Wallet is returned through the applicable payment system. It does not create a cash balance in the Customer Wallet.

8. Removing a payment method and closing the Wallet

8.1

A Customer may request removal of a payment method through an available in-app process or by contacting RentAAA. Identity or account verification may be required.

8.2

Removal may be delayed where reasonably necessary to complete an already authorised payment, address a dispute or preserve required records. RentAAA will not use a removed method for a new payment without a valid continuing authority or other lawful basis.

8.3

Removing a method, cancelling an authority or closing the Customer Wallet does not cancel the Customer’s rental agreement or an outstanding amount owed to the Merchant.

8.4

Closing a Customer Wallet or deleting access to a payment method does not require RentAAA to delete records that must be retained for payment reconciliation, fraud prevention, dispute handling, chargebacks, audit, legal claims, Merchant recordkeeping or compliance with Applicable Law.

9. Customer fees, failed payments and disputes

9.1

A setup, processing or dishonour fee payable by the Customer will be disclosed before authorisation or in an accessible fee schedule. A financial institution may impose its own fees.

9.2

If a payment fails, the Customer may need to update details or separately authorise another method. RentAAA may retry only within the scope of an existing valid authority and applicable payment rules.

9.3

A Customer who believes a payment is incorrect or unauthorised should promptly contact the Merchant, RentAAA and, where appropriate, the Customer’s financial institution. No term in this Policy removes a right under Applicable Law or payment-scheme rules, including a mandatory cancellation, refund, reversal or chargeback right.

10. Customer Wallet security and privacy

10.1

The Customer must protect the device, account and passcodes used to access the Customer Wallet and report suspected unauthorised access promptly.

10.2

Payment and personal information is handled under the RentAAA Customer Privacy Policy and applicable Payment Provider privacy practices.

10.3

If payment-related documents, images, bank records, screenshots or supporting files are uploaded, RentAAA may use OCR, document-reading technology and AI-assisted tools to read, extract, structure and process information for platform use. The Customer must check and correct extracted information before confirming it. RentAAA does not use AI-assisted tools to make final rental, payment, damage, insurance, approval, rejection or legal decisions.

10.4

Wallet and payment information may be disclosed to the relevant Merchant, Payment Provider, financial institution, identity or fraud-prevention provider, support provider, regulator, authority or adviser where required or permitted by the applicable RentAAA privacy policy, Payment Provider terms or Applicable Law.

10.5

RentAAA may suspend the Customer Wallet where reasonably necessary for security, suspected fraud, legal compliance, provider requirements or material misuse. Where practicable, RentAAA will provide notice and an opportunity to respond.

11. Changes, governing law and contact

11.1

RentAAA may update this Policy for legal, provider, security or operational reasons under the change process in the applicable Customer terms. A change does not retrospectively alter a completed transaction without a lawful basis.

11.2

This Policy is governed by the law stated in the applicable RentAAA Customer Terms, country supplement or payment authority. The dispute and jurisdiction provisions in the applicable RentAAA Customer Terms or other applicable product terms apply. This choice does not override a mandatory law, regulator power or forum that cannot validly be excluded in the country connected with a Customer or transaction.

11.3

This Policy is published in English and may be translated. Unless Applicable Law requires otherwise, the English version prevails if there is a conflict. A mandatory local-language notice or payment authority prevails for the matter it governs.
