This Policy explains how the Customer Wallet works. It should be read with the RentAAA Customer Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy and any payment authority, Direct Debit Request, PayTo agreement or payment notice shown before using a payment method.

RentAAA is not a marketplace, rental agency, broker, agent or reseller. RentAAA provides software and payment-administration tools only. The Merchant or service provider remains responsible for the rental item, vehicle, property, inventory, accommodation, goods, service, pricing, refund, bond, damage, insurance, dispute and customer claim.

1. Definitions

1.1

Customer means a person using RentAAA Customer in connection with a participating Merchant.

1.2

Customer Wallet means the payment profile associated with a Customer account. It may contain supported payment methods, mandates and transaction records but no customer funds or spendable balance.

1.3

Merchant means an independent rental or service provider using RentAAA Pro.

1.4

Merchant Wallet means the Payment Provider’s settlement facility associated with a Merchant and administered through RentAAA for payment settlement, holds, transfers and payouts.

1.5

Payment Provider means an appointed third-party gateway, processor, financial institution or payment service provider.

1.6

RentAAA means Starr Group Pty Ltd trading as RentAAA.

2. Nature of the Customer Wallet

2.1

A Customer Wallet may be created when a Customer registers or adds a supported payment method in RentAAA Customer. A Customer Wallet is created for payment setup, payment authority and transaction-record purposes only.

2.2

The Customer Wallet is a software payment profile. It may allow the Customer to:

  • add, update or remove supported payment methods;
  • establish and view payment mandates or authorities;
  • set default payment methods.
2.3

The Customer Wallet:

  • does not hold a customer balance;
  • cannot be loaded with funds;
  • cannot be used to deposit, withdraw, transfer or store money;
  • does not pay interest;
  • is not a bank account, deposit account or stored-value facility.
2.4

An amount displayed in a Customer Wallet is a transaction record or status, not money held for the Customer in the Wallet.

3. Adding Payment Details

3.1

Supported methods may include Direct Debit, PayTo, PayID, debit cards, credit cards and other methods presented in the Application.

3.2

Payment details may be collected directly by a Payment Provider through an embedded or redirected interface. RentAAA may receive tokens, masked account or card details, mandate information and transaction status needed to operate the Customer Wallet. The Payment Provider may remain the primary holder or processor of payment details, while RentAAA receives only the information reasonably required to operate the Customer Wallet and support payment records.

3.3

RentAAA does not store complete debit or credit card numbers, card verification values or internet-banking credentials. The payment-setup screen and RentAAA Customer Privacy Policy explain the handling of bank-account and other payment information.

3.4

The Customer must be authorised to use every payment method added and must keep the information current.

3.5

If a Customer adds a bank account, card or other payment method that belongs to a family member, friend or another person, the Customer confirms that they have authority from that person to use it and to provide the payment details for RentAAA payment purposes. The Customer must ensure the account holder understands that limited payment details, tokens, mandate information and transaction status may be collected, used, stored or shared with the Payment Provider, Merchant or RentAAA as needed to process authorised payments and support records.

3.6

A Customer may add and maintain multiple supported payment methods in the Customer Wallet, subject to availability, provider rules and security checks. These may include Direct Debit, PayTo, PayID, debit card, credit card or other methods shown in the Application.

4. Payment Authorities

4.1

RentAAA will charge another linked payment method if the default method fails.

4.2

A valid recurring authority may permit subsequent payments or retries within its terms and applicable payment rules with the Merchant. The Customer will be given any notice required by the authority or law.

4.3

If one payment method fails, the Merchant may use another supported method. The Merchant may retry or process failed payments.

5. Direct Debit

5.1

A Direct Debit is governed by the Direct Debit Request and Direct Debit Service Agreement presented during setup.

5.2

A setup fee may apply and will be disclosed before setup. Once successfully established, the fee is non-refundable.

5.3

The Customer may cancel a Direct Debit authority through the process stated in the Direct Debit Service Agreement or through available banking channels. Cancellation stops future debits in accordance with that process but does not cancel an amount owed to the Merchant.

6. PayTo, PayID and Cards

6.1

A PayTo agreement may need to be approved and may be paused, amended or cancelled through the Customer’s banking channel, subject to the applicable PayTo terms.

6.2

A PayID payment must use the destination and reference shown in the Application. An incorrect reference, amount or destination may delay matching.

6.3

Card payments are processed by a Payment Provider. The Customer must not send complete card details to RentAAA or a Merchant by email or ordinary messaging.

7. Customer Wallet Records and Status

7.1

The Customer Wallet may display In Queue, Sent to Bank, In Progress, Waiting Settlement, On Hold, Completed, Dishonoured, Reversed or Refunded.

7.2

A pending status does not mean the payment has completed. A completed payment remains subject to a lawful refund, reversal, dishonour or Chargeback.

8. Removing a Payment Method and Closing the Wallet

8.1

A Customer may request removal of a payment method by contacting the Merchant or service provider. Identity or account verification may be required.

8.2

Removal may be delayed where reasonably necessary to complete an already authorised payment, address a dispute or preserve required records.

8.3

Removing a method, cancelling an authority or closing the Customer Wallet does not cancel the Customer’s rental agreement or an outstanding amount owed to the Merchant.

9. Customer Fees, Failed Payments and Disputes

9.1

A setup, processing or dishonour fee payable by the Customer will be disclosed before authorisation or in an accessible fee schedule. A financial institution may impose its own fees.

9.2

If a payment fails, RentAAA may retry other payment methods available as provided by the Customer within the scope of an existing valid authority and applicable payment rules.

9.3

A Customer who believes a payment is incorrect or unauthorised should promptly contact the Merchant and, where appropriate, the Customer’s financial institution. No term in this Policy removes a right under Australian law or applicable payment rules.

10. Customer Wallet Security and Privacy

10.1

The Customer must protect the device, account and passcodes used to access the Customer Wallet and report suspected unauthorised access promptly.

10.2

Payment and personal information is handled under the RentAAA Customer Privacy Policy and applicable Payment Provider privacy practices.

10.3

RentAAA may suspend the Customer Wallet where reasonably necessary for security, suspected fraud, legal compliance, provider requirements or material misuse. Where practicable, RentAAA will provide notice and an opportunity to respond.

10.4

If payment-related documents or images are uploaded, RentAAA may use OCR and AI-assisted tools to extract and structure information as described in the RentAAA Customer Privacy Policy.

11. Trade Mark and Intellectual Property

11.1

The RENTAAA name is an Australian registered trade mark of Starr Group Pty Ltd. All RentAAA software, websites, applications, platform content, designs, branding and related materials are owned by Starr Group Pty Ltd or its licensors and may be used only as permitted under these Terms.
